Theory I | ETSAB, UPC (Barcelona) | Autumn 2016
[pdf text in spanish]
During the reading of Goethe's Faust and Virginia Woolf's The Waves, a feeling of emptiness not finding a meaning to existence, or in other words, dissatisfaction with life, shape an axis that influences the development of various characters.
This dissertation focuses on Dr. Faust and Bernard, establishing a comparison between different aspects that they show throughout the books as the already mentioned existential emptiness and the reasons leading to it, or the attitude they adopt in the course of life, sometimes conditioned by the use of reason and some others when perceptions and impetus gain ground.
