The root understood as the origin; take root:

In the neighbourhood of El Ginestar, in Viladecans, there is a place that
preserves the forest that comes down from the Ordal mountains. Some people describe it as a piece of mountain that enters the city while others believe that it's a city corner that springs up in the middle of nature. The project was born from the desire to enhance the essence of Can Ginestar; the cultural and historical memory of the farmhouse, an ecosystem of Mediterranean trees and a topography, sometimes modified by human action, which gives character to the routes and offers a different vision of the urban and territorial landscape.

To achieve a space that belongs both to
nature and the city, an architecture of perimeter walls is proposed in order to protet the spaces from direct south light and that constitutes an urban and permeable facade, thanks to voids through which the greenery sneaks in and conquers the street. Inside the site, this wall disappears and becomes a transparent facade that fills the interior space with light, visually relating to the park and the farmhouse. In this way, a transition to the public space is created, emphasized by the structure, the pavement and the treatment of light.

The proposal consists of a
group of volumes related to each other through elevated walkways, which recieve filtered light from a latticework and overlooks the rockery gardens through which the park is accessed. The perimeter wall becomes a server and circulation space that acts as a great threshold, capable of stitching together the different volumes and giving access to the served spaces. The corner is enhanced by placing an articulating lobby for the volumes. The visitors access the building under a porch, enter the reception and find a double-height hall that invites them to continue discovering the its architecture.

The perimeter wall is the seed from which the rest of the structure springs, consisting of a first 5-meter module that configurates the small scale of the distributor, and ends in a large 10-meter span that houses the main spaces. This transition is articulated with a system of pillars and beams, which make it possible to treat the domestic and the public differently.
